Gas Smell Near An Appliance
Turn the gas off at the meter if it is safe to reach, open doors and windows, and do not use light switches or anything with a flame. Then call us, because a gas leak has to be found before the appliance is used again.
Appliance Will Not Light Or Stay Lit
Burners that click but will not light, or a heater that keeps going out, should be checked by a licensed gas fitter before you keep using it. We tell you whether a repair or a new appliance makes more sense.

It depends on the appliance and the gas point: connecting a new cooktop to an existing point is a smaller job than running gas to a new heater bayonet or BBQ. We look first, then give you one fixed price to approve before any work starts. There is nothing to pay just for us to come and look during business hours.
Answer:
Plugging a portable heater into an existing bayonet is fine, but connecting a cooktop, oven, hot water system or built-in BBQ is gas fitting work. In NSW that has to be done by a licensed gas fitter. You can buy the appliance yourself and we will connect it.

Cooktops, freestanding stoves and wall ovens, heaters and bayonet points, continuous flow and storage hot water systems, and outdoor BBQs, on natural gas or LPG bottles.
Answer:
Not always. A like-for-like swap usually goes on the existing point, but a new position, a bigger appliance or a heater whose plug does not suit the old bayonet can need the line extended or a new fitting. We check before we quote, and our gas line installation page covers new runs.

Yes. Check the box says it suits your gas type, natural gas or LPG, before you buy, because an appliance set up for one cannot simply be connected to the other. Tell us the model when you book so we come prepared.
