What Is Pipe Relining?
Pipe relining repairs a damaged sewer or stormwater line from the inside. Instead of digging up the yard or driveway, a resin-soaked liner is fed into the existing pipe, inflated and cured in place. The result is a smooth, jointless pipe inside the old one, cracks and root entries sealed behind it.
CIPP, cured-in-place lining, trenchless repair and no-dig repair all describe the same technique.
What Sets the Price of a Reline?
No reline is priced before the camera has been through the line. Four things set the fixed price:
Length of the damaged run
You reline the bad section, not the whole line, and the camera measures it.
Diameter
A house sewer takes a smaller liner than a stormwater or main run.
Junctions and bends
Each junction inside the run needs its own lining work; tight bends add time.
Cleaning and access
Heavy roots or scale mean more jet blasting first. No access point means creating one.

It depends on what the camera finds, which is why we do not quote a reline over the phone. The fixed price is set by the length of the damaged run, the pipe diameter, the number of junctions inside that run, and how much cleaning the pipe needs first. Usually, because the biggest costs of a dig-up are not the pipe: they are the excavation, the machinery, and putting the driveway, paths or garden back afterwards. Relining skips all of that. A short, shallow section in open lawn can sometimes be cheaper to dig, and we tell you honestly when that is the case, with a fixed price for either option.

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons we reline. The roots are cut out and the pipe is jet blasted clean, the camera confirms where they were getting in, then the liner seals that crack or joint from the inside. Roots cannot grow through the new pipe wall, so the blockages stop coming back.
Answer:
Only while the pipe still holds its shape. A liner can bridge cracks, open joints and a sagging section, but a fully collapsed or badly offset section leaves nothing for it to form against. In that case we quote a section repair for that part and reline the rest, so the dig is kept as small as possible.

In most relines, no. The liner goes in through existing access points such as the boundary trap, an inspection opening or a gully, and cures inside the pipe. Where a run has no access at all we may need one small access pit rather than a trench, and we tell you that before you agree to a price.

The cured liner is a new structural pipe in its own right, not a patch. It has no joints for roots to find and it does not crack the way old clay and earthenware do.
