The Sewer Repairs We Do
Found on camera, dug up and replaced with new pipe, then tested and backfilled.

Broken And Cracked Sewer Pipes
Older terracotta pipes crack at the joints and along the barrel. We cut out the broken pipe and join in new PVC.

Collapsed Sewer Lines
A section that has collapsed will block no matter how often it is cleared. It has to be dug up and replaced.

Root Damaged Sewers
Roots that have forced joints open and broken the pipe. We replace the damaged section and clear the tree roots from the rest of the line.

Boundary Traps
The boundary trap near the front of the property cracks, loses its cap or fills with roots. We replace it and seal it.

Full Line Replacement
When the camera shows the whole line is broken or badly sagging, we replace it from the house to the connection, with permits and traffic control organised if the work reaches the street.
Which Sewer Line Repair Do You Need?
Most sewer repairs start from one of these.

Sewage In The Yard
Sewage seeping up through the lawn or around a pit, or a patch of ground sinking along the line. The pipe has likely broken. Use as little water as you can and call.

Blocks Again After Every Clear
The sewer has been cleared more than once and keeps blocking. A camera check usually finds a broken, sagging or root-damaged section that needs repair.

Camera Report Showing Damage
A camera inspection or a pre-purchase report found a cracked or broken sewer pipe. Send the footage or the report and we quote the repair to it. Some cracked pipes can be relined instead of dug up.
How We Repair A Sewer Line

Made goodTest And Backfill
We test the new pipe, backfill and compact the trench, and show you the repaired line on camera before we leave.

Sewer Repair FAQs
Answer:
It depends on the length being replaced, how deep it is, what sits on top (lawn, concrete, a driveway), access for digging, and whether the work reaches the street. We camera the line, show you the damage and give you one fixed price before any digging.
Answer:
A single broken section close to the surface is a much smaller job than a collapsed line under concrete. We find the damage on camera first, then quote one fixed price for the repair.
Answer:
Often, yes. Cracked pipes and open joints can usually be relined from the inside with no digging. A pipe that has collapsed or sagged badly cannot be relined and has to be dug up and replaced. The camera shows which you have.
Answer:
The usual signs are a sewer that keeps blocking after being cleared, sewage or wet patches in the yard, a sewer smell outside, gurgling drains, or ground sinking along the line. A camera inspection confirms it.
Answer:
Generally, the sewer pipes on your property, from the house to where they connect to Sydney Water's main, are the owner's to repair. Sydney Water looks after its main. If the damage is at or past the connection, we tell you and it goes to them.
Answer:
If the damage is in one section, repairing that section is usually enough. If the camera shows cracks and root damage along most of the line, replacing or relining the whole line is usually better value than repairing it piece by piece over the years.
Answer:
A boundary trap is a trap in the sewer line near the front boundary, fitted on many older Sydney properties to stop sewer gas coming back from the main. It needs replacing when it is cracked, broken, full of roots or missing its cap.
Answer:
Yes. Damaged sections of terracotta are cut out and replaced with PVC, joined with the right fittings. Where the whole line is terracotta and failing, it can be replaced or relined.
Answer:
Yes. Roots get into small gaps at the joints, then grow and force the joints and the pipe apart until it cracks or breaks. Clearing the roots is a short-term fix; repairing the damaged joints stops them getting back in.
